Chicken and Dumplings

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 pounds chicken - cut into pieces

  • 1 tbs oil

  • 1/2 cup of Bisquick mix

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 medium yellow onion - minced

  • 2 carrots - minced

  • 1 small can crean of chicken soup

  • 1/4 tsp garlic

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Dumplings

  • 1 1/2 cups of Bisquick mix

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/4 tsp sage

  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasonings

Can Opener, Cutting Board, Dutch Oven, Measuring Cups, Measuring Spoons, Mixing Bowl, Stove, Coals

INSTRUCTIONS


Using 1/2 cup of Bisquick, coat chicken pieces. Heat oil in a 12-inch dutch oven and fry chicken until browned.


In a seperate bowl mix soup, onion, galric, carrots and water. Pour over chicken. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until chicken is done. 


In another bowl, mix 1  1/2 cups of Bisquick, sage, italian seasonings and milk together to form a soft dough. Pinch off small pieces of dough and drop into simmering chicken. Simmer uncovered 7-10 mintues or until dumplings are cooked.


If using coals: Use 16 on the lid in a ring around edge, 8 Coals on the bottom in checkboard pattern.
