Jerome State Historic Park is a state park in Arizona, US. The museum is located in the old former mansion of James S. Douglas, that was built in 1916 on the hill just above the Little Daisy Mine, offering a beautiful panoramic view of the Verde Valley. The Jerome State Historic Park features photographs, artifacts and minerals in addition to a video presentation and a 3-D model of the town with its underground mines, history of the Jerome area and the Douglas family.

Our Dispersed Camping trip near Happy Jack off of county road 209 exit FS RD 81 in the Coconino National Forest: Mogollon Rim Ranger District

Experience the sights in our recent dispersed camping adventure. Upon arrival, we swiftly transformed the serene woodland into our cozy haven, setting up our rooftop Alu-cab Tent, Clam shelter, and a convenient wash station. As the day unfolded, our campsite evolved into a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, complete with chairs, a table, and all the essentials for a memorable stay under the stars.

Venturing into the wilderness, I embarked on a pleasing hike through the forest, encountering a delightful array of wildlife and flora along the way. From a noisy squirrels chattering in the tree to vibrant wildflowers swaying in the gentle breeze, each sighting was a testament to the natural beauty that surrounded us. A chance encounter with a curious horny toad lizard added an extra dash of excitement to my forest exploration.

Returning to camp, I eagerly prepared our All-In-One Cast Iron Grill by Barebones for an evening feast. As the aroma of sizzling pork chops and vegetables filled the air, we savored the simple pleasures of outdoor cooking, accompanied by a steaming pot of pine needle tea. With bellies full and hearts content, we settled in for the evening, basking in the warm glow of the campfire as we recounted the day's adventures and shared stories under the starlit sky.

When you got to go in the forest with a shovel and toilet paper, you aim to do your business as timely and easily as possible. For our camping trips we provide a composting toilet with a privacy structure, so you don't have to go in the woods.

Here I use the cast iron grill by Barebones for the first time to grill pork chops, portabella mushroom, zucchini and foiled vegetables. Besides using it as the grill that day, I made a upside down cake, that turned out great. Prior I have done stir fry over the fire twice, easy and relatively fast.

Camping and Hiking on the Mogollon Rim in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest off Forest Road 124 near Overgaard, Arizona. During our stay we saw wild horses, deer, fox, squirrels and lots of wild mushrooms. While hiking we see a rare occurrence, a fox being chased by a deer. Later we found her deceased fawn.

Tonto Natural Bridge State Park is located near Payson, Arizona. It is believed to be the largest natural travertine bridge in the world. We hiked two of the three trails and enjoyed a lunch at the picnic area.
