Meadow Hot Springs

Located just 4 miles south of Fillmore, Utah is the quiet little town of Meadow. Meadow Hot Spring is located just west of the town of Meadow, in an open field. The spring is located on private property, but the land owner has continued to make it accessible to the public. The property has been improved with fences and a nicely graded walking path that connects three different pools. The property owners have posted several signs at the main gate so please respect their wishes and obey the posted rules, this will ensure that this beautiful natural resource will remain open to the public.

The first pool boasts crystal-clear waters with a temperature hovering around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It's also quite deep, with limited edges for sitting. Most adults can stand about chest-deep around the perimeter, and a rope with a large PVC pipe across the center provides a cozy spot to sit. The clarity of this pool is maintained as water flows off at a brisk rate, feeding into a small stream. The stream itself has seen improvements, featuring a pea gravel base and solid rocks along the edges, creating a shallow wading area for kids to play safely.

From the parking area, you'll notice two gravel trails: one leading south and the other westward. The southern trail leads to the aforementioned pool, while the western trail guides you to two additional pools. These latter pools are not as warm as the first, making them perhaps more appealing on a scorching summer day rather than during winter. Along the western trail, the first pool encountered shares the clarity of the main pool but isn't as deep. It features a wooden dock hanging over the deeper end, seemingly intended for jumping, although caution is advised due to the pool's depth.

Continuing south on the western trail leads to the third pool. During our visit, this pool appeared murky with a film on the surface, yet it was noticeably deep with no shallow edges for sitting. For those seeking a pleasant soak, I highly recommend the first pool. The water temperature is akin to a warm bath, the clarity is impeccable, and the area is clean—although I did collect a small garbage bag full of beer cans. This brings me to an important point: please clean up after yourselves and others who may litter this area. Remember, the landowner graciously keeps this area open to the public, but they could choose to close it at any time.

Lastly, it's worth noting that the hot springs sit on private land and may be posted as no trespassing at times. Always respect any signage and boundaries to ensure continued access to this beautiful natural spot.
